Michal completed a MA in Art Education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. She earned a BA in Literature from Westmont College, Santa Barabara in 2010. In 2014 she studied painting and lithography at la Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City.
Her work focuses on the dynamic between remembering and notions of history, paying attention to events of the recent past. In depicting settings and objects from daily life, the images become records of the here and now, and express the social dimensions of time and place.
