Michal completed a MA in Art Education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. She earned a BA in Literature from Westmont College, Santa Barbara in 2010. In 2014 she studied painting and lithography at la Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City.

Her work focuses on the act of remembering and ideas of history, inviting us to pay attention to events of the recent past.

In depicting objects from daily life, the images become records of the here and now that trouble the relationship between stillness and movement, and express the social dimensions of time and place.
